
Arçelik A.Ş. is founded by Vehbi Koç and Lütfi Doruk in Sütlüce/İstanbul in 1955 and has became one of the biggest domestic manufacturers in Turkey in the past years as a member of Koç Group.
As the demand did grow up, Arçelik has built newer plants to meet the
demand. After 13 years of manufacturing Turkey’s first refrigerator in 1960, Arçelik has started building Eskişehir Refrigerator Factory in 1973 and started manufacturing with GE Licenced Single Door Refrigerators in 1975.
In the past half century, Arçelik has been growing rapidly. Today, Arçelik A.Ş. has over 50 years of experience, over 25.000 employees and over 11 billion TL consolidated net sale. Arçelik A.Ş. has 9 other domestic appliance brands that have different regional markets, under its roof. To name a couple, Beko, ElektraBregenz, Grundig, Arctic and Altus could be said. Although domestic appliance is what comes to mind first when heard Arçelik, Arçelik has a product range varying from electronic devices to air conditioning and even computer&media. With that total number of 10 brands, Arçelik A.Ş. is competing in more than 100 countries and has sales offices in 25 different countries. To be able to compete in as many markets, Arçelik A.Ş. has manufacturing plants in Turkey, China, Romania, Russia and South Africa. The production plant of Arçelik A.Ş. in Eskişehir has 160.000 m^2 closed and 388.000m^2 total area and 4495 employees in total.
